New Delhi: India produced a clinical all-round performance to defeat Namibia by a massive 93 runs in a Group A fixture of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. A commanding batting display followed by disciplined bowling ensured India tightened their grip on the group standings and enhanced their title credentials.

Explosive Start Sets the Tone

After losing the toss and being asked to bat first, India made full use of the surface to post an imposing 209 for 9 in 20 overs.

The innings was ignited by a breathtaking knock from Ishan Kishan, who hammered 61 runs off just 24 balls, striking six boundaries and five sixes. His fearless approach in the powerplay laid a strong foundation.

Sanju Samson added impetus with a quick 22 off 8 deliveries, while Tilak Varma contributed 25 runs. Captain Suryakumar Yadav chipped in with 12 as India maintained a brisk scoring rate.

The highlight of the middle overs was an authoritative innings from Hardik Pandya, who smashed 52 off 28 balls, blending power and precision. Shivam Dube supported well with 23 runs, ensuring India crossed the 200-run mark.

Namibia skipper Gerhard Erasmus was the standout bowler for his side, claiming four wickets and briefly pulling things back in the middle overs.

Namibia Falter Under Pressure

Chasing a daunting target of 210, Namibia struggled from the outset and failed to build substantial partnerships. They were bowled out for 116 in 18.2 overs.

auren Steenkamp top-scored with 29, while Jan Frylinck made 22. Captain Gerhard Erasmus fought for his 18 runs, but the mounting required rate and India’s relentless bowling attack proved too much.
