In the 17th match of Group ‘C’ of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, Italy registered a commanding 10-wicket victory over Nepal at the Wankhede Stadium, strengthening their position in the tournament. After opting to bowl first, Italy’s disciplined bowling attack bundled out Nepal for just 123 runs in 19.3 overs.
For Nepal, Arif Sheikh top-scored with 27 runs, while skipper Rohit Paudel contributed 23. Asif Sheikh added 20 and Dipendra Singh Airee scored 17. Karan KC provided late resistance with an unbeaten 18, but the rest of the batting lineup failed to make significant contributions. Italy’s Krishan Kalugamage was the standout bowler, claiming 3 wickets for just 18 runs in his four overs, earning him the Player of the Match award. Ben Manenti took two wickets, while Ali Hasan, JJ Smuts, and Jaspreet Singh chipped in with one wicket each.
Chasing a modest target of 124, Italy’s opening pair, Justin Mosca and Anthony Mosca, made the chase look effortless. Justin Mosca played a composed and mature innings, remaining unbeaten on 60 off 44 balls, while Anthony Mosca smashed an aggressive unbeaten 62 off 32 balls. The duo stitched together an unbroken 124-run partnership, guiding Italy to victory in just 12.4 overs.
